Northwest All-Stars was created in the Fall of 2010 by Denn Pretz, previously the director of Riverside Youth Basketball (girls') and out-of-season basketball for the Auburn Riverside High School (in Auburn, Washington) girls from 2003-2010, serving both groups as program director, fundraising coordinator, tournament director and basketball skills, weights, agilities, conditioning and team coach. After seven years of helping to build and maintain one of the most successful girls' youth and high school programs in Washington state, Denn had decided to focus time and energy on this new venture in an effort to help boys' and girls' basketball throughout the northwest reach even greater heights.

Returning for the 2011-2012 school year, a new and improved era of Riverside Youth Basketball for boys and girls will begin. We are very excited to be back to offer the families of this community an improved model of what was put together and maintained on the girls' side from 2003-2010. We are set to establish the Foundation of the Nation with our youth players receiving the kind of guidance and togetherness, training, coaching and competition that they will need to help them excel on and off the court through their high school years and beyond. Denn has also returned to lead the Riverside HS girls' spring/summer schedule as they develop individual skills, competitive spirit and toughness and team unity and strength with a tough offseason schedule that includes weights and agility training, basketball skills development, team practice, local tournaments against strong club team competition and regional and national NCAA-certified viewing events that will include some of the best teams in the country.

Youth and high school teams, club and same school, can look for Northwest All-Stars to continue to host the same top notch tournaments that Denn was known for putting together while working with the Riverside program, now partnering up to co-host tournaments throughout the puget sound region with organizations such as Riverside Youth Basketball, Seattle Youth Basketball, Damian Young from Tree of Hope and a new, well established and powerful event partner to be announced soon.

Girls' high school basketball players will get much more exposure as Northwest All-Stars partners up with key members of the girls' basketball community as well as local organizations excited to sponsor and host events set to bring together some of the best girls' basketball players from around the northwest and beyond for our annual fall NCAA-certified viewing showcase and our new for 2012 Northwest Summer Showcase NCAA-certified viewing tournament in July.

Northwest All-Stars will also work with a few experienced and well known club and school team coaches to offer boys and girls the opportunity to train in individual or small group sessions to improve their basketball skills and develop their potential into tangible results. More information on training dates, times, locations and costs coming very soon!
